I’m Kim Hawkins, founder of Tales of a Travel Bag. What began with my own love of travel has grown into helping others experience the world, and especially Africa, with greater connection, comfort and confidence.

My own travels taught me that the most memorable journeys aren’t simply about where you stay or what you see. They’re about the people you meet, the stories you learn and the moments that make a destination feel personal.
Today, I call Ghana home and work with trusted local partners and travel professionals to create thoughtfully planned experiences across Africa and beyond. That combination of personal travel experience, professional planning and on-the-ground relationships allows me to help travelers experience destinations with more depth and connection.
Africa has become the heart of what I do; and helping others experience it meaningfully is one of my greatest joys.
